How PackRight handles app, account, synchronization, artwork, and support information.

Effective September 4, 2026

Using PackRight without an account

You may use PackRight without signing in. When you are signed out, PackRight stores your trips, destinations, travel dates, packing lists, master templates, shopping status, and packing progress locally on your device. This information is not sent to PackRight’s synchronization service. Deleting a trip removes it from PackRight, and deleting the app removes its locally stored data, subject to device backups managed by Apple.

Network features such as destination search, weather, and opening external links may still send the limited information described below to the applicable service.

Optional account and Sign in with Apple

You may choose Sign in with Apple to generate new destination artwork and synchronize PackRight data across your devices. Apple and Supabase, PackRight’s authentication and cloud-service provider, process the sign-in. PackRight receives a unique account identifier and the email address Apple provides, which may be an Apple private-relay address. PackRight does not receive your Apple password. Although Apple may offer your name during the authorization process, PackRight does not retain it as a separate profile field.

PackRight uses the account identifier and email address only for authentication, account operation, security, artwork-generation limits, synchronization, support, and related service communications. They are linked to your PackRight account but are not used for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.

Data synchronized with your account

When you are signed in, PackRight stores a copy of your trips, destinations, travel dates, packing lists, master templates, shopping status, and packing progress in PackRight’s Supabase project. These records are linked to your Supabase User ID so that they can be synchronized across your devices. Access controls are configured so authenticated users can access only records belonging to their own account.

Signing out stops synchronization on that device but does not delete the cloud copy of your account or synchronized information.

Destination artwork

When signed-in users request artwork for a destination that is not already available, PackRight sends the destination description to a Supabase Edge Function. The function uses OpenAI’s image service to create the artwork. OpenAI receives the artwork prompt, which includes the destination and visual instructions, but PackRight does not include your packing list, Apple password, or email address in that prompt.

PackRight stores generated destination artwork in a publicly readable Supabase storage bucket so that the same destination artwork can be reused rather than generated again. Anyone with an artwork’s direct public URL may be able to view it. The artwork itself is intended to depict a destination and is not intended to contain personal information.

To operate and protect this feature, PackRight stores your User ID, the UTC usage date, the number of artwork generations used that day, the requested destination and style, generation status, and technical timestamps. These records are used for quotas, caching, reliability, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting—not for advertising or tracking.

Other network services

Open-Meteo

Destination text is sent to Open-Meteo’s geocoding service. Destination coordinates, trip dates within the available forecast range, and forecast parameters are sent to its weather service. Open-Meteo also receives the IP address used for the request.

Apple Maps

Apple mapping services may supplement destination search when Open-Meteo does not provide a suitable match. PackRight does not request the device’s current location for this feature.

Supabase and OpenAI

Supabase provides authentication, synchronized data storage, artwork storage, database services, and Edge Functions. OpenAI generates destination artwork from prompts sent by PackRight’s Supabase Edge Function.

Entry-requirement sources

If you choose an entry-requirements link, your browser opens a destination-government website or IATA Travel Centre. PackRight does not send your passport details or packing list to those sites.

Shopping, activity, and transportation providers

Optional links may open Amazon, GetYourGuide, Omio, Amtrak, Eurail, Japan Rail Pass, SBB, BritRail, ACP Rail, Viator, or another clearly identified provider. A link may include the item, activity, or destination shown in the app. PackRight does not send your complete packing list to those providers.

Websites and network services normally receive technical information such as an IP address, device or browser details, and request time. Once you open an external provider, its collection, cookies, accounts, purchases, retention, and other practices are governed by its own policy. PackRight does not control those practices.

Support messages

If you submit the public PackRight support form, Formspree, Inc. processes and stores the information you provide, such as your name, reply email, issue category, message, and optional app or device details, and delivers it to PackRight’s private support mailbox. This information is used only to investigate, manage, and respond to your request.

PackRight aims to delete resolved support submissions from its Formspree inbox and support mailbox within 24 months unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for an active request, security, fraud prevention, dispute, or legal obligation. Formspree processes information under its Privacy Policy.

Affiliate links

Selected links may be affiliate links. A provider may attribute a qualifying purchase or booking to PackRight and pay PackRight a commission at no extra cost to you. PackRight does not receive your provider password or full payment-card information merely because you follow a link.

Retention and deletion

Local information remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app, subject to Apple-managed device backups. Synchronized account content and authentication information are retained while your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Shared destination artwork may remain available for reuse after an account is deleted, but its requester is no longer associated with it in PackRight’s artwork records.

To request deletion of your PackRight account and associated synchronized information, use the PackRight support form and select Privacy request. PackRight may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder. Signing out or deleting the app alone does not delete the account or cloud data.

Data collection, sale, and tracking

PackRight does not sell personal information, include advertising or analytics SDKs, or use account information, email addresses, User IDs, or user content to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. PackRight and its service providers use information only to provide, maintain, secure, and support the features described in this policy. External websites you voluntarily open may have their own advertising, analytics, and tracking practices.

Children’s privacy

PackRight is not directed specifically to children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, submit a privacy request so it can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate.

Security and accuracy

PackRight uses access controls and standard application-storage and networking technologies intended to protect information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Weather forecasts and travel-entry information can change; always confirm critical requirements with the relevant authority.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as PackRight changes. The effective date will be revised when material changes are made.
